Axis binding
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000024
A mechanical issue in 3D printers where one or more of the motion axes (X, Y, or Z) experiences resistance or friction, preventing smooth and accurate movement. This can lead to skipped steps, layer shifts, or inconsistent extrusion, resulting in defects in the printed part. It often indicates problems with linear bearings, lead screws, or motor calibration.
