Linear bearing
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000207
A mechanical component designed to provide free motion in a single direction along a linear axis or rod. In many desktop 3D printers, these components support the print bed or the print head assembly, guiding their movement along the X, Y, or Z axes with low friction. Common types found in printers include ball bushings, which contain recirculating ball bearings, and sleeve bearings made from self-lubricating polymers.
