Screw drive
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000335
A mechanical component consisting of a threaded rod and a mating nut, used to convert rotational motion into linear motion. In additive manufacturing, screw drives are commonly employed in material extrusion systems to precisely advance the filament into the hot end. They are also used for Z-axis movement in many 3D printers, controlling layer height accuracy.
