Gantry
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000151
The overhead framework of a 3D printer that supports and moves the print head or other components along the X and Y axes. This mechanical assembly consists of rails, belts, and motors that guide the toolhead precisely across the build area to deposit material according to the part's geometry. The gantry's design, such as Cartesian, CoreXY, or H-bot, determines the printer's motion system and affects its speed, accuracy, and overall footprint.
