Granular materials binding
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000159
A category of additive manufacturing processes that selectively joins particles of a granular material, such as polymer, sand, or metal powder, to form a solid object layer by layer. A binding agent is selectively deposited onto a bed of powder to fuse the particles together, or a thermal energy source like a laser or electron beam melts the particles. Binder jetting and powder bed fusion are the two main process families within this category.
