Glass transition temperature
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000158
The temperature range at which an amorphous polymer transitions from a hard, glassy state to a soft, rubbery state. Below this temperature, the material is rigid and brittle, while above it, molecular chains gain mobility. For 3D printing filaments, the glass transition temperature influences printability, layer adhesion, and the mechanical properties of the final part.
