Freeform fabrication

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000142

A broad category of manufacturing techniques that create three-dimensional objects directly from digital models without the need for molds, dies, or machining. This approach builds parts layer by layer, allowing for the production of complex geometries and internal structures that are difficult or impossible to achieve with traditional subtractive methods. Additive manufacturing is a prominent form of freeform fabrication.
