Thermoset plastic
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000385
A polymer material that undergoes an irreversible chemical change when heated, forming a rigid, cross-linked structure that cannot be re-melted or reshaped. Unlike thermoplastics, thermosets degrade upon reheating rather than softening. These materials are used in vat photopolymerization processes, where liquid resins are cured by light into solid thermoset polymers.
