Plastic
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000279
A category of synthetic or semi-synthetic polymers used as a build material in many additive manufacturing processes, particularly material extrusion and vat photopolymerization. These materials are characterized by their ability to be molded, extruded, or solidified into a desired shape when heated or exposed to light. Common examples in 3D printing include polylactic acid (PLA), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and photopolymer resins, each with distinct mechanical properties.
