Access point

A networking hardware device that allows Wi-Fi compliant devices to connect to a wired network. It acts as a central transmitter and receiver of wireless radio signals, creating a wireless local area network (WLAN). Access points are commonly used in homes, offices, and public spaces to extend network coverage or provide wireless connectivity where wired connections are impractical.
