Boot sequence

The ordered series of operations that a computer performs from the moment it is powered on until the operating system is fully loaded and ready for user interaction. This process typically begins with the BIOS or UEFI firmware performing a power-on self-test. The boot sequence determines which storage device the system attempts to load the operating system from.
