Warm boot
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-001343
The process of restarting a computer system without completely powering it down first. This typically involves using a software command or a keyboard shortcut, such as Ctrl+Alt+Delete on Windows, which bypasses the initial hardware checks performed during a cold boot. A warm boot is faster than a cold boot because it does not reinitialize all system components.
