A type of twisted pair cable used for Ethernet networks and other physical layers. Category 6 cable is designed to handle higher bandwidth and reduce crosstalk compared to earlier standards like Cat 5e. It supports data rates up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet over shorter distances, typically 55 meters.
