A physical terminal consisting of a keyboard and display screen used for direct, low-level interaction with a computer system. It provides access for system administration, monitoring, and diagnostics, bypassing the main network interfaces. Unlike remote administration tools such as SSH or RDP, the console functions even if the operating system's networking stack is unavailable, making it a primary tool for troubleshooting boot-up or connectivity issues.
