A suite of Internet Engineering Task Force specifications for securing certain kinds of information provided by the Domain Name System. The Domain Name System Security Extensions provide origin authority, data integrity, and authenticated denial of existence through the use of digital signatures. This prevents attackers from manipulating or poisoning the responses to DNS requests, a practice known as DNS spoofing or cache poisoning.
