The Internet Connection Firewall, a personal firewall feature built into the Microsoft Windows XP operating system. It provided basic protection by monitoring network traffic and blocking unsolicited incoming connections to prevent unauthorized access and attacks from the internet. This component was enabled on a per-connection basis and was replaced by the more advanced and centrally managed Windows Firewall in Windows XP Service Pack 2.
