A Microsoft Windows feature, Internet Connection Sharing, that allows one internet-connected computer to share its connection with other computers on a local area network. The host computer acts as a router, performing network address translation to manage traffic between the local network and the internet. This feature provides a basic form of network gateway functionality without requiring dedicated hardware, assigning private IP addresses to client devices via a built-in DHCP server.
