A lightweight directory access protocol for accessing and maintaining distributed directory information services over an Internet Protocol (IP) network. It provides a standardized way for applications to query and modify information in directory services, such as user accounts, groups, and network resources. LDAP directories are commonly used for single sign-on solutions and centralized user management.
