Micro Channel Architecture, a proprietary bus standard developed by IBM for its PS/2 line of personal computers in the late 1980s. It was designed to overcome the limitations of the ISA bus, offering features like bus mastering, multiple bus masters, and software configuration. MCA slots were physically and electrically incompatible with ISA, requiring new expansion cards.
