A computer-based system that collects, processes, and presents data from multiple organizational sources to support management functions and decision-making. A Management Information System (MIS) integrates information from departments such as finance, sales, and human resources to generate structured reports, summaries, and trend analyses. Unlike a Transaction Processing System which focuses on daily operations, an MIS provides aggregated data for tactical planning.
