Ripping

The process of extracting digital content, such as audio or video, from a physical medium like a CD, DVD, or Blu-ray disc, and converting it into a file format stored on a computer's hard drive. This allows the content to be played back without the original disc. Common output formats for audio ripping include MP3 and FLAC.
