A method of transmitting data, especially audio and video, over a computer network as a continuous flow, allowing playback to begin while the rest of the data is still being received. This contrasts with downloading, where the entire file must be transferred before it can be accessed. Popular streaming services include Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube.
