A common type of audio connector, often used for headphones, microphones, and musical instruments. The acronym stands for Tip, Ring, Sleeve, referring to the three contact points on the plug that carry different electrical signals. A standard TRS connector has a diameter of either 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) or 6.35 mm (1/4 inch).
