Unified memory architecture
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-001281
A system design where the central processing unit (CPU) and the graphics processing unit (GPU) share the same pool of physical memory. This eliminates the need to copy data between separate CPU and GPU memory banks, reducing latency and improving efficiency for integrated graphics systems. Modern integrated graphics solutions often employ a unified memory architecture.
