UPS

A device that provides emergency power to a load when the input power source, typically mains power, fails. It contains a battery that supplies power for a short duration, allowing connected equipment to shut down gracefully or continue operating during brief outages. UPS units are rated by their apparent power in volt-amperes (VA) and real power in watts (W).
