An event-driven programming language developed by Microsoft, derived from BASIC. It provides a graphical user interface (GUI) development environment that allows programmers to drag and drop objects onto a form, write code for events, and compile the application. This language was widely used for developing desktop applications for the Windows operating system before being largely superseded by Visual Basic .NET.
