  1. A rectangular, separately controllable viewing area on a display screen in a graphical user interface. It presents a distinct application, document, or set of data to the user. Multiple windows can be open simultaneously, overlapping or tiled, each with its own controls such as minimize, maximize, and close buttons.

  2. A family of proprietary graphical operating systems developed by Microsoft for personal computers, servers, and embedded systems. It provides a graphical user interface (GUI) that allows users to interact with the computer using a mouse and keyboard. Windows is the most widely used desktop operating system globally.
