Win32
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-001374
The core application programming interface (API) for 32-bit versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system. It provides a set of functions, data structures, and protocols that developers use to create applications that run on Windows, giving them access to system resources like files, memory, and devices. Although originally for 32-bit systems, the Win32 API is the foundation for 64-bit Windows programming, where it is sometimes called the Windows API or Win64, and it remains the primary interface for native desktop application development.
