Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-000634

1. A biological process that occurs in the presence of oxygen.

2. Microorganisms that require free oxygen to biodegrade organic matter.

3. Able to live, grow, or take place only when free oxygen is present.

4. Environmental conditions characterized by the presence of dissolved oxygen; used to describe biological or chemical processes that occur in the presence of oxygen.

5. Life or processes that can occur only in the presence of oxygen.

6. (air-0-bick) A condition in which free" (atmospheric) or dissolved oxygen is present in the water.

7. Life or processes that require, or are not destroyed by, the presence of oxygen.

8. Occurring in the presence of free oxygen.

9. Aerobic respiration takes place in the presence of oxygen and produces a large amount of energy. Carbon dioxide and water are produced as the waste products.

10. Requiring, or not destroyed by, the presence of free elemental oxygen.

11. Having molecular oxygen (O₂) as a part of the environment, or a biological process that occurs only in the presence of molecular oxygen.
