Benchmark Dose
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-002963
1. A dose or concentration that produces a predetermined change in response rate of an adverse effect (called the benchmark response or BMR) compared to background.
2. A dose that produces a predetermined change in response rate of an adverse effect (called the benchmark response or BMR) compared to background.
3. An exposure due to a dose of a substance associated with a specified low incidence of risk, generally in the range of 1% to 10%, of a health effect; or the dose associated with a specified measure or change of a biological effect.
4. A dose or concentration that produces a predetermined change in response rate of an adverse effect (called the benchmark response or BMR) compared to background. See IRIS Glossary. A dose of a substance that when ingested produces a predetermined change in the response rate of an adverse effect relative to the background response rate of this effect. This predetermined change is called a “benchmark response” or BMR. See Benchmark Dose Technical Guidance (EPA, 2012). See Benchmark Dose Technical Guidance (EPA, 2012).
