Consumptive Use
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-006293
1. Water removed from available supplies without direct return to a water resource system for uses such as manufacturing, agriculture, and food preparation.
2. Use that permanently withdraws water from its source.
3. Those uses of resources that reduce the supply-such as logging and mining. (C.F.S.) "Consumptive use" as a category does not make any distinction between resources whose supply will, sooner or later, build up again after the initial reduction (i.e., renewable re-sources) and resources whose supply will essentially never be renewed (i.e., nonrenewable resources). (C.F.S.).
4. With respect to heating oil means consumed on the premises.
