1. The process of evaluating the completeness, correctness, and conformance/compliance of a specific data set against the method, procedural, or contractual specifications.
2. A term with a different meaning to different persons. Clarification should be sought when using this term during project planning and implementation. The EPA OEI Quality Staff defines data verification as evaluating the completeness, correctness, and conformance/ compliance of a specific data set against method, procedural or contractual requirements.
