Verification

Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-029662

1. An effort to test the accuracy of the questionnaire response data. The concern is uniquely with data accuracy and deals with neither the reliability nor the validity of measures.

2. The process of evaluating the completeness, correctness, and conformance/compliance of a specific data set against the method, procedural, or contractural specifications.

3. Confirmation by examination and provision of objective evidence that specified requirements have been fulfilled. In design and development, verification concerns the process of examining a result of a given activity to determine conformance to the stated requirements for that activity. OEI: To evaluate the completeness, correctness, and conformance/compliance of a specific data set against method, procedural, or contractual requirements

4. Confirmation by examination and provision of objective evidence that specified requirements have been fulfilled. In design and development, verification concerns the process of examining a result of a given activity to determine conformance to the stated requirements for that activity.

5. Systemic, independent and documented practice for the evaluation of a particular assertion against agreed verification criteria (where validation criteria/verification criteria are a policy, procedure or requirement used as a reference against which evidence is compared).

6. To evaluate whether or not a measurement system's outputs agree with a range of applied reference signals to within one or more predetermined thresholds for acceptance. Contrast with “calibration”.
