Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-008154

1. Invertebrates or non-human vertebrates which transmit infective organisms from one host to another.

2. A carrier, usually an arthropod, that is capable of transmitting a pathogen from one organism to another.

3. Any rodents, flies, mosquitoes, or other animals, including insects, capable of transmitting disease to humans.

4. Carrier that is capable of transmitting a pathogen from one organism to another.

5. An animate intermediary in the indirect transmission of an agent that carries the agent from a reservoir to a susceptible host. [CDC 2005]An insect or any living carrier that transports an infectious agent from an infected individual or its wastes to a susceptible individual or its food or immediate surroundings. [MERREA 2004]

6. Animate intermediary in the indirect transmission of an agent that carries the agent from a reservoir to a susceptible host.

7. Organism capable of transmitting the causative agent of human and/or animal disease, including but not limited to mosquitoes and ticks.
