1. An organism, often an insect or rodent, that carries disease.

2. Plasmids, viruses, or bacteria used to transport genes into a host cell. A gene is placed in the vector; the vector then "infects" the bacterium.

3. A coordinate-based data structure commonly used to represent map features.

4. An organism that carries disease such as an insect or rodent.

5. An animate intermediary in the indirect transmission of an agent that carries the agent from a reservoir to a susceptible host.
