Vector
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009959
A quantity possessing both magnitude and direction, used to represent physical properties such as wind velocity, force, or displacement in the atmosphere. Vectors are mathematically expressed as components along coordinate axes or by their length and angle. In meteorology, wind vectors are often depicted with arrows on weather maps, where arrow length indicates speed and direction indicates flow.
