Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-011248
1. The process by which suspended colloidal or very fine particles are assembled into larger masses or floccules that eventually settle out of suspension.
2. Process by which clumps of solids in water or sewage aggregate through biological or chemical action so they can be separated from water or sewage.
3. The gathering together of fine particles in water by gentle mixing after the addition of coagulant chemicals to form larger particles.
4. Process to enhance agglomeration or collection of smaller floc particles into larger, more easily settleable particles through gentle stirring by hydraulic or mechanical means.
