Geologic time scale

1. An arbitrary chronologic arrangement of geologic events, commonly presented in a chart form with the oldest event and time unit at the bottom and the youngest at the top.
2. Relative time scale based onstratigraphic position and correlation. and many different types of chronologic evidence. Geologic time is broken down into eons. eras. periods and epochs.
