Haplotype

1. A mitochondrial DNA genotype. One of several forms of the circular mitochondrial DNA molecule that differs from other forms due to mutations in the DNA sequence.
2. A haplotype is a set of DNA variations, or polymorphisms, that tend to be inherited together.
3. A haplotype is a set of DNA variations, or polymorphisms, that tend to be inherited together. A haplotype can refer to a combination of alleles or to a set of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) found on the same chromosome.
