Proportionate Mortality Ratio

1. The proportion of deaths due to the disease of interest in the exposed population divided by the proportion of deaths due to the disease of interest in the unexposed or reference population. It is frequently converted to a percent by multiplying the ratio by 100.

2. The number of deaths from a specific cause in a specific period of time per 100 deaths from all causes in the same time period.
