Relative Risk
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-023707
1. The relative measure of the difference in risk between the exposed and unexposed populations in a cohort study. The relative risk is defined as the rate of disease among the exposed divided by the rate of the disease among the unexposed. A relative risk of 2 means that the exposed group has twice the disease risk as the unexposed group.
2. A comparison of the risk of some health-related event such as disease or death in two groups.
3. General term for measures of association calculated from the data in a two-by-two table, including risk ratio, rate ratio, and odds ratio.
4. Comparison of the risk of some health-related event such as disease or death in two groups.
