Radioactive Material

1. Matter composed of or containing radionuclides subject to the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (42 U.S.C. 2014 et seq.). Radioactive material includes, but is not limited to, high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.

2. Matter composed of or containing radionuclides, with radiological half-lives greater than 20 years, subject Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.

3. Any material which spontaneously emits radiation.

4. Material that undergoes a spontaneous emission of ionizing radiation from the nuclei of unstable nuclei to become a stable nuclide.
