1. Enzymes that recognize specific regions of a long DNA molecule and cut it at those points.
2. An enzyme that cleaves double-stranded DNA.
3. An endonuclease that recognizes specific nucleotide sequences and cleaves DNA at these highly specific locations. In genetic engineering, new genes can be inserted into these gaps.
