Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-025098
1. Process of deposition of waterborne or windborne sediment or other material; also refers to the infilling of bottom substrate in a waterbody by sediment (siltation).
2. Letting solids settle out of wastewater by gravity during treatment.
3. A water treatment process in which solid particles settle out of the water being treated in a large clarifier or sedimentation basin.
4. The accumulation of sediment in an area, filling shipping channels and covering oysters and other bottom-dwelling organisms. Sedimentation is also called siltation.
5. When soil particles (sediment) settles to the bottom of a waterway.
6. Accumulation of sediment in an area, filling shipping channels and covering oysters and other bottom-dwelling organisms. Sedimentation is also called siltation.
