Windbreak

Living barrier that usually includes several rows of trees, and perhaps shrubs, located upwind of a farm, field, feedlot, or other area and intended to reduce wind velocities. Windbreaks, also called shelterbelts, can reduce wind erosion, conserve energy or moisture, control snow accumulations, and provide shelter for livestock or wildlife.
