Acquisition time

The duration required for a measurement system or sensor to collect sufficient data to produce an accurate reading or image. This period includes the time for signal integration, conversion, and any necessary settling. In analog-to-digital conversion, acquisition time is the interval during which the input signal is sampled and held before conversion begins.
