Trigger

An event or signal that initiates a specific action or sequence in an electronic circuit or system. This can be a voltage level, a rising or falling edge of a pulse, or an external command. Triggers are used in oscilloscopes to stabilize waveforms, in data acquisition systems to start recording, and in control systems to activate processes.
