Positive edge

The transition of a digital signal from a low voltage level to a high voltage level. This rising edge is often used as a trigger for synchronous circuits, initiating an action or state change in a flip-flop or counter. In digital logic, events are frequently synchronized to either the positive or negative edge of a clock signal.
