Attokatal
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000316
An SI derived unit of catalytic activity equal to one quintillionth (10⁻¹⁸) of a katal. It quantifies the rate at which a catalyst converts one mole of substrate per second under specified conditions. This extremely small unit is applied in fields like biochemistry and enzyme kinetics for measuring very low levels of catalytic action, such as the activity of single enzyme molecules.
