Barrister's bands

Two strips of white linen or cotton fabric, typically pleated or gathered, worn at the neck as part of the formal attire for barristers and judges in certain legal systems. These bands are attached to a collar and hang down the front of the chest. They symbolize the wearer's profession and adherence to legal tradition.
